Helen Kanach, age 97 of McKeesport, died October 3, 2017 at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. Born November 30, 1919 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Frances (Frok) Kanach. Helen dedicated her career to G.C. Murphy Co. as a personnel director, where she retired after more than 40 years of service. She was a resident at Redstone Highlands in North Huntingdon which she enjoyed greatly. She loved to travel the world and see its sights, especially her trips to Europe. Most recently she loved to spend time playing cards and bingo with her fellow friends. She is survived by her many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Victoria Maturkanich, Louise Dietz, Stephanie Dashofy, Clair MacNaughton, Walter Kanach, and Mary Kalcevic. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 2515 Versailles Ave., McKeesport, PA 15132. (Everyone please meet at church) Father Steven Palsa will officiate. Burial will follow at Saint Mary Polish Cemetery.
