Edmund E. "Mickey" Adamek, age 93, of Greenock, died April 17, 2018, at Locust Grove of West Mifflin. Born February 25, 1925, in Port Vue, he was the son of the late Jan and Aniela (Kotulsky) Adamek and the husband of Laura (Michalek) Adamek. Mickey and Laura celebrated 70 years of marriage on November 9, 2017. Mickey was a retired construction labor foreman, with local 373. He was a member of the Holy Family Polish National Catholic Church, where he belonged to the YMS of R. He was a US Navy veteran serving during WWII, as a Aviation Machinist Mate 3rd class in the South Pacific Island's. He also held the rank of Junior Lieutenant Air Craftsman. Mickey was an all around handyman, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He had a "sweet tooth" and loved chocolate. In addition to his wife Laura, he is survived by his children, Karyn (Thomas "Tucker") Muse of West Homestead, Jon Adamek of Allison Park, Wendy (Eugene) Kreitz of Sinking Springs, PA, Leslie Adamek of North Versailles and Alexa (Kevin) Foster of Sewickley; grandchildren, Melissa, Josh (Christine) Adamek, Jordan and Kearsten Kreitz, Jared Ohls, Abbey and Jack Foster; great grandchildren, Arthur Edmund, Sarah Jane Adamek and Adam Kreitz; also many neices and nephews. Mickey was also preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Eileen Adamek. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, April 19, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 20, 2018, 10 a.m., at the Holy Family Polish National Catholic Church. Fr. Bruce Sleczkowski will be the celebrant.
