Edward Revak, Jr. Obituary

Edward J. Revak Jr., long time resident of White Oak, PA passed away peacefully at his home in Mesa Arizona on May 29, 2018, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Helen E (Mikolajski) Revak, Ed was preceded in Death by his first wife of 23 years Georgette C. (Vandall) Revak, his daughter Shannon K.(Whelan)Hathaway of White Oak PA his son Vincent R. Revak of Mesa AZ, and his brother William F. Revak of West Mifflin PA. He is survived his beloved wife Linda S (Whelan) Revak of 25 years and his children Robert of Mesa, AZ. Marc of Middleburg, FL. Kelly (Whelan) Allen of Norman OK, his brother James R. (Alicia) Revak of West Mifflin, PA. and sister in-law Clara (Johnston) Revak of West Mifflin, and brother in-law Kevin & Daneen Nunimaker of Mesa AZ. Ed was born in McKeesport PA grew up in Duquesne and West Mifflin area and was a graduate of Duquesne High School and California University of Pennsylvania.
He served a tour of duty in the US Navy and was the General Foremen of the Heat-Treating Facility in the Duquesne plant until forced into retirement he later worked for the Defense Contract Management Agency in Pittsburgh as an Industrial Specialist and became the Union President of Local 2304 AFL-CIO District 3 and later moved to Mesa AZ as an Industrial Specialist in Phoenix AZ and became the Union President of Local 2846 AFL-CIO District 12.
He was active in several community service activities, including being active on the White Oak Athletic Association Board of Directors for 13 years, helping and/or running several fund-raising activities. He was a Little league coach at the Athletic Association for 12 years and a representative on the Board of the United States Steel Supervisor Club in the USS Duquesne Plant. He was also involved in a dog rescue operation in Arizona known as Cast Off Cockers in Mesa AZ that saved hundreds of dogs from euthanasia, provisions and medical care were provided for the pets while helping others foster families to care for these wonderful rescued dogs while they were waiting to find their forever home with new families. He also fostered them in his own home and kept several that were not adoptable and he also helped to arrange new homes for the rescued dogs, touching many lives in many ways and Ed will also be missed by a wonderful array people his wife, children, sister in law, brother in-law, and many grandchildren, a great grandchild, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., A blessing service will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018, 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Fr.
