Irene E. Skiffington

Irene E. Skiffington, age 86, of McKeesport, died January 18, 2019. Born August 18, 1932, in Larimer, PA, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Julia (Martin) Morcheid and the wife of the late Regis J. Skiffington. Irene retired from the McKeesport Area School District, where she worked in the cafeteria. She also worked as a hostess at the former Chef Paul's Restaurant of White Oak. Irene enjoyed watching old movies and reading, although her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Dennis (Maureen) of Hempfield, David (Elise) of Churchill, Regis (Kim) of Shelby, OH, Michael (JoyceAnn) of Greensburg and Julie (Dennis) Sawders of White Oak; grandchildren, Jacob (Amanda), Courtney (Jamie) Perez, Joshua, Cari, Kellie, Samantha (Nicholas) McKnight, Sarah (Dennis) Persin and Michael; great grandchildren, Addison, Abiageal, Andrew and Levi; sister, Regina Ahlborn of New Alexandria ; also many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Irene was also preceded in death by  a son, Donald F.; brothers, James and Louis Morcheid; sisters, Cecelia Loughner, Madeline Kuropatva and Ellen Vargo. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, January 21, 2019, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A blessing service will be celebrated on Tuesday, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel.
