James Patrick Dorman

James Patrick "Pat" Dorman, age 71, of Ligonier, PA, formally of McKeesport, died October 4, 2018, at Latrobe Hospital. Born December 31, 1946, he was the son of the late James & Alta (Bennett) Dorman and the husband of Nancy (Foster) Dorman. Pat retired from the Pittsburgh Public School District, with over 30 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman spending his time fishing, kayaking and riding his mountain bike. Pat also enjoyed reading and woodworking. He was a free spirit known to jump in his van and drive to Florida or Wyoming on a whim to fish.  Pat enjoyed his group of close friends, playing weekly basketball and meeting for Thursday night dinners.
In addition to his wife, Pat is also survived by his daughter, Alyssa (Steve) Doster; grandchildren, Caroline and Vivian; brother, Dennis Dorman; many dear friends; and his loyal Border Collie, Lilly.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, October 11, 2018, from 5 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 7 p.m. Pastor Jody Dausey will officiate.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the PA Lyme Resource Network; www.palyme.org
