James J. McGinty

James J. McGinty, age 80, of McKeesport, died January 23, 2019, at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. Born September 4, 1938, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late James V. and Irene (King) McGinty and the husband of the late Jane Marie (Boes) McGinty. James retired from the McKeesport Fire Department, where he was a fireman. He was very proud to protect and serve the families of McKeesport for over 29 years. He was a US Army veteran and a member of the White Oak American Legion Post # 701. James was a member of Corpus Christi Church of McKeesport. He enjoyed camping at Mountain Pines Resort of Donegal and biking on the Allegheny Trails. He is survived by daughter, Kimberly (Freddie) Brower of AK; grandchildren, Natalie and Angeline; sisters, Bernadette McGinty of McKeesport and Ella Jean Cindric of MA; also nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, James was also preceded in death by son, James; brother, Robert. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, January 27, 2019, from Noon to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, 10 a.m., at Corpus Christi Church.
