Joanne Marie Nowading, of White Oak, died on her 89th birthday surrounded by her family, January 8, 2018, at Autumn Ridge Personal Living. Born January 8, 1929, in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Marie (Scholley) McGregor and the wife of the late Joseph R. Nowading. Joanne was retired from the Hotel Benedict, where she was the dining room manager, with over 25 years of service. Prior to that, she was a waitress at the Hillcrest Country Club and also the former Ben Gross Restaurant. She was a member of St. Angela Merici Church. She dedicated her life to her work and caring for her family. Joanne enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, tending to her garden, bowling, bingo and was a great cook. She is survived by her children, Jean (Anthony) Chepanoske of Duquesne, Marianne (David) Lutz of Trafford, Gary (Wendy) Nowading of North Versailles, Karen (Richard) Konkolewski of Delaware, OH, and Holly (Mark) Weaver of North Versailles; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; also nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert, Richard, James and Jean. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, January 11, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on January 12, 2018, 10 a.m., at St. Angela Merici Church, with Fr. Kevin Dominik officiating. Burial will follow in New St. Joseph's Cemetery.
