Richard D. Alberts, Sr.

Richard D. Alberts, Sr., age 72, of Elizabeth Twp., died February 14, 2018, at home. Born August 19, 1945, in San Antonio, TX, he was the son of the late Fred Alberts and the husband of Diane (Kelly) Alberts for 53 years. Richard was a retired machinist from US Steel with over 37 years of service. After retirement he went to work for Pro Am, as a fire extinguisher inspector and his latest employment was with Mon-Valley Hospital Transportation Services, where he was a driver. He was a US Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam war. Richard served his community through his lifelong career as a volunteer fireman with the Central Fire Department, in Elizabeth. He was a member of the Gospel Alliance Church in Belle Vernon. He and his family enjoyed spending time and making memories at their family camp in Presque Isle, Lake Erie, PA. Richard also had a passion for traveling with his wife and enjoyed watching football. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Dorothy (Hranicky) Alberts of MD, and children, Tina (Joe) Dugan of Rostraver and Richard D. (Beth) Alberts, Jr., of Elizabeth Twp.; grandchildren, Lauren, Nathan and Xander; brother, Charles (Sara) Alberts of FL; nieces and nephews; and loyal pup "Snow." In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his beloved pup "Dutchess." Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, February 17, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, February 18, 2018, from Noon to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be celebrated on Monday, February 19, 2018, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Brad Sickler will be the celebrant. Burial with military honors will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
