Thomas "Tom" Somerfeld

Thomas "Tom" Somerfeld, age 76, of Jeannette, died September 4, 2018, at William Penn Care Center. Born August 14,1942, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Frank and Rose (Drozinski) Somerfeld. Tom loved his faith and lived to help others. He was a member of the Brother's of the Holy Spirit. Tom was Pastoral Care and Counselor at  "Another Way," of Uniontown, where Tom helped folks with challenges and to find faith. He attended the Lady of the Lake Seminary of Syracuse, IN and then St. Vincent's Arch Abbey of Latrobe, PA. He enjoyed reading, music, dancing, and traveling, but his greatest joy was sharing his faith. Tom is survived by his sister, Cathy (Gene) Yarkovich; niece, Dominique (Josh) Chandler; nephew, Dean Eddy; also many other nieces, nephews, friends and fellow clergyman. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, September 6, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m., with the Parastas service at 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, 11 a.m., at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 411 Shaw Avenue, McKeesport.  Fr. Donald J. Voss will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount St. Macrina Cemetery of Uniontown.
