Agnes L. Shash

Agnes L. Shash, age 94, of White Oak, died February 9, 2020, at home. Born November 5, 1925, in Boston, PA, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Anna (Hartig) Ruffing and the wife of the late Joseph Shash.
Agnes retired from the U.S. Postal Service in McKeesport, where she was a clerk. She was a life-long Traditional Roman Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel of Boston, KY. Agnes was also a member of the McKeesport Garden Club, and McKeesport Art Group. She enjoyed painting, gardening, and working cryptoquote puzzles. In her early years, she was a great seamstress and made her children's clothing. Agnes always supported pro-life causes and various veteran's organizations. She gave support and lent a hand to all that were in need.
Agnes is survived by her children, Gary J. (Harriet) of Boston, PA, the late Linda A. Holman (Ronald) of Nashville, TN, Valerie M. (Stephen) Hensley of North Versailles, Joseph L. (Jill) of Monessen, PA, and Christina L. (Jeff) Pallini of Green Bay, WI; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Anna Marie Clark of White Oak; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, William L., John H., Dottie, and Marcella Buric.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday from 3 p.m. until the time of Rosary service at 7:30 p.m., followed by last leave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 9 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Fr. Joseph Pfeiffer will be the celebrant. Committal prayers and burial will follow in New St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 1730 N. Stillwell Rd., Boston, KY 40107.
