Grey E. Pratt

Grey E. Pratt, age 87, of White Oak, died January 7, 2020, at UPMC McKeesport. Born December 22, 1932, in North Versailles, he was the son of the late Edgar and Edna (Colflesh) Pratt and the husband of the late Dolores (Hussey) Pratt. Grey retired from Union Railroad, with 43 years of service. He started as a Stenographer for Union Railroad and worked his way up to Superintendent of Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad. Grey was a US Army veteran, serving as a Secretary for a General, located on Governors Island, NY. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with his son and friends while he was a member of Edgewood Country Club. Grey enjoyed monthly wine club nights at the Jacktown Ride and Hunt Club. He also enjoyed his fantasy football team, partnering with his brother-in-law, Charles. Grey's greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Grey D. (Debra Jean) Pratt of White Oak; sister, Nikki Gene (Charles H.) Turley; brother-in-law, Harry Shaw, Sr.; nieces, Gretchen (Robert) Bazala, Heather (Thomas) Shrump, Nancy (Shaw) Goldsmith, and Kelly McClelland; nephew, Harry Shaw, Jr.; great-nieces, Rylee and Kassady Shrump, Elizabeth Goldsmith, Meghan, and Katerina McClelland; great-nephews, Preston and Landon Bazala, Brian Shaw, David Goldsmith, and Zachary McClelland; friends William and Lorraine McCulloch and family.
In addition to his parents and wife, Grey was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Patricia Shaw.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, January 10, 2020, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in New St. Joseph's Cemetery.
