Jean "Jeannie" (Walker) Waters

Jean "Jeannie" F. Waters, age 95, of Dravosburg, formerly of Salem, MA, died March 10, 2022, at UPMC McKeesport. Born November 29, 1926, in Salem, MA, she was the daughter of the late Theodore F. and Eleanor R. (Burkinshaw) Walker and the wife of the late Theodore J. Waters.
Jeannie retired from Verizon (formerly Nynex) as a group manager in 1985 at the age of 58 with 41 years of service. She began her career with the phone company at the age of 17 as a switchboard operator and grew with them through name changes and technology improvements. Jeannie was a graduate of Salem High School Class of 1944. She was an avid journaler and loved writing and documenting events. Jeannie enjoyed traveling, gardening, and dancing to rock-n-roll music. The happiest moments of her life were those spent with her dear children and friends.
Jeannie is survived by her much-beloved children, Paul M. Waters of Salem, MA, and Karen Waters of Dravosburg, PA.
