Joanne Marie Duncan

Joanne Marie Duncan, age 91, of McKeesport, died July 22, 2023, at The Palms at O'Neil. Born November 27, 1931, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Harriett (Barger) Duncan. Joanne attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and then the University of Pittsburgh, where she obtained her Master's degree.  
After college, Joanne worked as a second-grade teacher for the West Mifflin School District until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of the McKeesport Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday school. After church on Sundays, Joanne would always watch the Steelers games, and she was also a Pirates fan.  She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and the States.
She is survived by a brother, John Duncan; nieces, Ruth (Ron) Smith, Virginia (Jeff) Bogdan, Cheryl (Bill Waggett) Jeffcoat, and Linda Oneufer; nephews, Robert (Linda) Massenburg, Leonard (Sarah) Jeffcoat, and John Jeffcoat. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by sisters, Ruth (Robert) Massenburg and Margaret (Larry) Jeffcoat.  
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, July 28, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the McKeesport Presbyterian Church.  The interment will follow Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
