John R. "Bear" Weigand

John R.  "Bear" Weigand, age 64, a lifelong resident of Liberty Borough, died May 15, 2022, at AHN Jefferson Hospital.  Born September 6, 1957, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Raymond Jr. and Christine (Konias) Weigand and husband of Terri Taylor-Weigand.  
John retired from National Express as a diesel bus mechanic and was a member of Teamsters Local 205.  As a child, John grew up obtaining medals and honors within the Boy Scouts, eventually earning the rank of Eagle Scout.  He enjoyed time outdoors, camping, boating, and jet skiing.  John also likes to test his luck at Texas Hold Em and lottery scratch-off tickets.  As his wife said, "Bear fell in love with my cooking."
In addition to his wife Terri, John is survived by step-children, Heather Cannata, Robert Kinter, Jolie Cannata, and Terra Cannata; grand-daughter, Renea Schodel; brother, James (Jane) Weigand; sister, Margaret Weigand; step-brother, Ted (Michelle) Provlis; niece, Larissa (Matt) Ruffing; nephew, James (Sarah) Weigand; great-nephew, River.  
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1 p.m.
