Kathleen M. Koelsch

Kathleen"Kathi" M. Koelsch, age 72, of North Huntingdon, died September 24, 2023 at West Penn Hospital. Born November 26, 1950, in West Mifflin, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Thelma (Hauck) Roche and the wife of  Wayne R. Koelsch.
Kathi retired from the Allegheny Intermediate Unit as a special education teacher and Gateway School District as the assistant special education coordinator after 35 years. After retirement, she worked as a student teaching advisor at the University of Pittsburgh for four years. Kathi received her bachelor's degree from Clarion University and her master's degree from Duquesne University. She was an active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Irwin and the Christian Mothers. Kathi volunteered at and donated to the McKeesport Agape Center, whose mission is to help people in need. Over the past few years, she had become interested in the benefits of essential oils and was a consultant for dōTERRA essential oil products. 
In addition to her husband Wayne, she is survived by her children, Kristin (Dan Coghlan) Koelsch of Fairfax, VA, Joseph (Jill) Koelsch of Zelienople, and Erica (Paul) Rodgers of Ross Twp; grandchildren, Audrey, Juliana and Natalia; siblings, James (Linda) Roche of South Park, Debbie (Jeffrey) O'Connor of Murrysville and Francine (Nick) Piscione of Belle Vernon; and many nieces and nephews.
Kathi was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert (Charlotte) Roche and Noreen Roche.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, October 2, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Irwin. Burial and committal prayers will follow in New St. Joseph Cemetery in North Versailles.
