Mary Szala Obituary

Mary R. Szala, age 98, of McKeesport, died May 30, 2018, at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. Born January 1, 1920, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Walenty and Amelia (Halon) Szala. Mary was retired from Westinghouse Electric of East Pittsburgh, with over 42 years of service. She was a member of Corpus Christi Church. Mary was also a member of the Elizabeth Twp. Seniors and the Versailles Borough AARP #2911. She is survived by her sisters, Helen A. and Bertha Szala of McKeesport, whom she lived with; also nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline C. Szala. A private family viewing was held at the Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church, Fr. Kevin Dominik was the celebrant. Burial took place in St. Mary Polish Cemetery.
