Obituary

Richard J. Simak, age 89, of McKeesport, died January 19, 2022, at The Palms Senior Living Center.  Born May 11, 1932, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Andrew and Daisy Danica(Zagar) Simak and husband of the late Vincentina (Como) Simak.  
Richard retired from U.S. Steel National Tube Works.  He served in the Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War.  He was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi Church, the White Oak American Legion Post 701, and the McKeesport AMVETS Post 8.
He is survived by children, Deborah Simak, of Pittsburgh and James (Theresa) Simak, of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Zachary Holtzman, Christina Stifler, Elizabeth Eger, and Andrew Simak; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Lia, and Zachary, Jr., Penelope, and Calvin; sisters, Lois Barkac and Patricia Lozano.  
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard J. Simak, Jr.; siblings, Florence Stokan, Andrew Simak, Jr., Jean Gluscic, and Daniel Simak.  
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory, Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 9:30 - 10:30 am.  A Funeral Mass will follow at Corpus Christi Church at 11:00 am. Inurnment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Vue.
