Shirley L. (Sophia) Johnston

Shirley L. Johnston, age 95, of Monroeville, died September 29, 2021, at home.  Born October 29, 1925, in Corning, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Niskosky) Sophia and wife of the late Edward E. Johnston.  
Shirley began her career at Westinghouse and then would retire from the McKeesport School District in the Administration Office.  When she was younger, she played the piano, organ and was a soloist at Christian Life Church in Trafford.  Shirley adored her grandchildren and loved to play Uno and Scrabble with them.  
She is survived by children, David (Nancy) Johnston, Ronald Johnston, and Lorraine (Robert) Trail; grandchildren, Sarah Johnston, Bethany (Jamin) Gardner, Zak Podolak, Cory Settle, RoniLee Marengo, Cole Settle, Megan Trail, Travis Trail, Rebecca (Michael) Seibert, Rachel (Ray) Lowry, Bryan (Dana) Rabatin, Sarah Jean (Nick) Giannotti, and Emily Rabatin; great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Selah, Soren, Stella, Dylan, Sophia, Ella, Julian, and Bobby.  
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, October 3, 2021, from 12-4 and 6-8 p.m.  
The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.  
Burial will follow at McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery.
