Stephen "Steve" Katich

Stephen "Steve" Katich, age 89, of White Oak, died August 18, 2018, at UPMC McKeesport. Born October 26, 1928, in Brownton, WV, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Sevick) Katich and the husband of the living Marjorie (Gorzo) Katich, for over 68 years. Steve retired from Bulkmatic Co., where he was a driver. He worked many jobs throughout his life, including being a White Oak police officer. He enjoyed building things with his hands. Steve and his wife built a home in Deep Creek, MD. Steve enjoyed playing cards with his friends and everyone was welcome. In addition to his wife, Steve is survived by his children, Chrisandra (Harry) Kelly of Lawrence, PA, Susan (Greg) Lohr of Dandridge, TN, Stephen "Skip" (Lori Jo) Katich of White Oak and Robert (Lori Jean) Katich of North Huntingdon; grandchildren, Matthew (Nicole), Dom Kasony and Lisa Foscoe; great grandchildren, Brittany, Richard and Tiffany; also many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Pauline Chada and Robert Carter. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, from 4 p.m. until the time of blessing service at 8 p.m., in the funeral home chapel. Fr. Kevin Dominik will officiate. Inurnment will take place at a later date in New St. Joseph's Cemetery Mausoleum.
