Irene (Bodnar) Prokop, age 88, of Elizabeth Twp., formerly of McKeesport, passed away on August 26, 2016 at Country Meadows of South Hills.  Born May 24, 1928 in Hungary, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Magdalene (Lakatos) Bodnar, and wife of the late Emil “Moe” Prokop.  Irene worked for Bell Telephone as a service representative and then went on to retire as a Teacher Aide from Allegheny Intermediate Unit.  She also volunteered at McKeesport and St. Clair Hospital.  She is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Keith) Drudy, Kenny (Linda) Prokop, and Richard (Lisa) Prokop; grandchildren, Darren Drudy, Kristen (Bevan) Drudy-Court, Richard Prokop II, and Lyndsay Prokop.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Zella Kozusko, and brother, Alex Bodnar.  Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 1, 2016, 10 a.m., at St. Michael Church in Elizabeth.  Fr. Thomas Wagner will officiate.  Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery.
