Pet Services

Sharing our lives with our gentle giant brought more joy than we ever could have ever imagined. Roscoe’s early life left a lot to be desired but when we pulled into that parking lot to rescue our boy, one look at him towering out of the back of that pickup truck and we knew we were in over our heads. Roscoe stood approximately 4 ft. tall and weighed in at a hefty 180 lbs and after spending the past 6 years with him I can say without any doubt that every single ounce of him loved his family.  His days were spent being spoiled rotten; camping, boating, smelling all of the things on his walks and riding in the car just because he loved to have the wind flap his giant elephant ears as we rolled down the road. His personality was intoxicating and we doted on his every adorable quirk. Roscoe was stubborn and testy in his later years but we were completely wrapped around his ginormous paws and found his senility even more charming. We secretly hoped we would never have to say goodbye to our huge lover boy but his enormous heart could not outlast his failing body. There will never be another one like him but we are tremendously thankful for the time we spent with him. He was so much more than a pet to us and we will cherish our memories of him forever.

The Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows,
hills and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and water and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again.
Those who are maimed are made whole again.
They play all day with each other.

There is only one thing missing.
They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth.
So, each day they run and play,
until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!
The nose twitches!
The ears are up!
The eyes are staring!
And this one runs from the group!

You have been seen,
and when you and your special friend meet,
you take him or her in your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again and again,
and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.

The last couple of paragraphs of this beautiful poem brings tears to anyone who has ever had to say, "goodbye", to their beloved pet.  That goes for all of us here, even years later.

There are human crematories in the McKeesport area, but no pet crematories. Therefore, local funeral homes provide shelter and transportation to a pet crematory.

We have created a comfortable room for you, to say goodbye to your beloved pet. If you just left a clinical setting or have not had the opportunity to say goodbye, we hope this special place will be of value to you and your family.

Our cost will often be lower than the cost at an out-of-town pet crematory. It is one small way for us to say, "thank you", to our friends and neighbors.

To 25 lbs- $125, 26-50lbs- $175, 51-75lbs- $200, 75-100lb-, $250, and add 1.00 per pound, over 100 lbs. This price includes a simple urn, a cast paw print and fur clipping. Daytime transportation, within 10 miles, is $75 or $125 between 5 p.m. and 9 a.m.

There is nothing like the unconditional love of a pet. We are honored to assist in their reverent care.

Not all of us have the property to consider burying a pet, but we are fortunate to have pet cemeteries located in the Pittsburgh area.

Whether the burial will be at your home or at a pet cemetery, we can help you create a heartfelt memorial. Memorials can include photos, carvings of favorite toys and especially, words to express your gratitude and love.
